I already enjoyed shopping at the Goodwill store, but with the bright new signs (branding donated by Corey McPherson Nash) and polished cement floors, the place looks like a modern department store, and I bet I’ll enjoy shopping there even more.

Hundreds of volunteers to hit city streets Saturday

Hundreds of volunteers will hit 65 sites throughout the city Saturday in a single, massive city cleanup effort. The event, sponsored by the Regional Environmental Council, is in its 22nd year and, according to organizers, has a huge impact on combating litter in the city.

In what was at times an impassioned debate, city councilors came one step closer Tuesday evening to passing an ordinance that will place some significant restrictions on the sale of tobacco within the city, including a ban on the sale of tobacco products at pharmacies.
